The atmosphere was perfect for an intimate and elegant dinner with your wife. First class in every respect. Well staffed and perfectly trained in the finer points of service. Welcomed by one of the owners Steve at our table who always made sure our experience was flawless. The food was amazing. We both went with steaks and they were so tender and tasty. (I went w/ an Oscar topping and Sharon the Black Garlic Butter) so very good. We started with Pork Bellies and lobster bisque and the best Old Fashion in Texas. Dessert and coffee capped a perfect dining experience. We could not recommend Prime102 higher. It will no doubt become a true East Texas treasure.

If there was a 6th star, they'd deserve it.
Dinner at a restaurant with my father is a difficult thing due to some disabilities, but we wanted to celebrate his 70th with some style and I want you, the reader, to know that everyone - from a table busser to the owner - immediately went out of their way to help make us as comfortable and happy as they could.
We've been to some very nice restaurants (comparables like Dee Lincoln Prime, Perry's, Nick & Sam's, Dakota's) in our time and we have never had better service. Matthew was our waiter and he was patient and helpful in addition to expertly fulfilling his waiting duties, but there was literally not a single person who we interacted with that wasn't that way.
Beyond that, the food was awesome - cooked exactly the way we asked and the touches on each plate were wonderful, down to the glaze drizzled on the melted bleu cheese on the pork belly appetizer. Our drinks were very, very good (including the wine, though they didn't bottle it), including our 5 year old's Shirley Temple!
For a nice dinner out, a nice place to get some drinks, or any other reason you can find to swing by Prime 102, I strongly encourage you to. It will be worth it.

This is the Alpha and the Omega of steakhouses. You need go no further. My wife and I visited this wonderful establishment that is located in the beautifully restored historic People's Petroleum Building. As we walked up the marble stairs we could not help but admire the 30's architecture. We were sat down and immediately greeted by Mrs Barnhart, one of the wonderful co-owners. We were both amazed by how sophisticated this restaurant feels, yet the staff still provides all the hospitality you expect from true Texans.
The food is other worldly! I have been to many steakhouses throughout this nation and this is truly the best one I have ever experienced. You have spoiled us and now I compare every other steakhouse to Prime 102. The bread they bring to the table is the the best I have ever had at any restaurant. The filet was 'melt in your mouth' incredible. The flavor and texture was amazing. The asparagus was perfectly cooked with just enough crunch, but not too much. And finally, the bread pudding is just WOW!
If you are in Tyler or plan on visiting, this is a must visit. You will be glad you did. Thank you to the Barnhart's and our wait staff for such a great experience. And last, but definitely not least, thank you to the chef for such a great culinary experience. We will be back soon!

My wife and I have been there twice and it has been fantastic both times. Tyler finally has a restaurant with ample floor service to make sure water is filled, food was cooked properly, and to check on the general status of the patrons. The red meat (12 Oz fillet both times) was on point. The truffle Parmesan fries, Brussels, and pork belly app were huge hits. The wine list has grown since the first time we went, so we were able to enjoy a nice Cab at a "not insane" mark up. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend had the 22oz ribeye and it was absolutely amazing with a beautiful char and a perfect medium rare! I had the Salmon and hands down the best place to eat in Tyler.

The staff is attentive and very professional! The cocktails were top notch. The food was excellent. So far, I've had the steak, lobster mac, lamb. Even the sides, appetizers, and desserts were wonderful. Plus, you just can't beat the art deco atmosphere of the historic building. Tyler is really stepping it up a notch with this place!

I had the Tomahawk Steak...chef Eric prepared it perfectly, Justin our waiter was an absolute delight. The rest of the staff was equally delightful. One of my favorite meals of all time. I will be returning with great anticipation!
